Life is an Adventure, Take the Leap!
This was 8 years ago! My first skydiving ? jump!
It was so much fun and one of the most exhilarating things I have ever experienced but the buildup of getting up and taking that leap was not for the weak!
I guess I like to think back to this moment and compare it to life. Fear can stop us from doing a lot of things! We have a tendency to build things up so big in our heads that it paralyzes us. You can’t imagine the thoughts in my head on that plane ride up to the altitude that we needed to be. Every possible scenario runs through your head. But I had to remind myself who was in control.
And, here’s the thing, each step you take closer to that big “thing” that you want to accomplish makes the fear slip away little by little. The closer the plane rose to our point the less fear I had. We just started moving into action. We started preparing for getting on the wing of the plane. Action stops fear!
You can see in the pictures of when I step out on the wing of the plane. That was honestly probably the most terrifying moment of my life up to that point. I felt stuck. I felt like I couldn’t move. I had just watched my husband jump and fly away and there is a part of me that just wanted to hang on to the safety of the wing. So I had to move!
I took a moment. I looked around and felt like I could see the entire world. It was breathtaking! I was in awe of God‘s beauty! His design!
And then… I did it. We jumped! I took that leap of faith and trusted that God was going to protect me!
And what was on the other side of that fear was a feeling that has never been replaced by anything else! It was absolutely amazing! The exhilaration, the freedom, the pure joy of doing something that I had dreamed about for so long!
It’s the same with all dreams that we have in our life! Man, if you can get past the fear, think of what you could do!
It’s no secret that I live my life like an adventure! I don’t wanna miss a thing! I love this life and the new challenges and obstacles that God brings my way! To trust in him to take the leap of faith like I did several years ago with my business and to see where he has brought me today! So much bigger than I ever thought it would be. All in his plan, not mine!
He has blessed me far beyond measure but this never would’ve happened if I would’ve let fear stop me. I would never have the group of women in my inner tribe that I do. I would’ve never realized how much art is needed in the world and how therapeutic it can be. I would’ve never realized how much women need community and thrive when we are brought together by a shared passion and love for art. I would’ve never realized God’s true purpose for my life!!
I hope that this gives you some hope and some courage to take that leap of faith that you need to in your life and trust God along the way! He is with you every single step of the way. He never lets go!
What is the most exhilarating or exciting thing you have done? What is that big dream that you hold onto??!
Trust God and JUMP!
