Hi, my name is Christie Hawkins owner & founder of The Social Easel where I teach thousands of women every month how to paint. I am so thrilled you are here to learn more!

So, just a little about me so we can get to know each other. I am a Christian, travel junkie, KC Chiefs fan, spontaneous free spirit, entrepreneur, artist, mom of 3 beautiful girls and wife to my husband Corey for over 22 years!  I grew up in a family of artists and have painted since childhood! With years of college experience and a passion for creating, I opened The Social Easel my local mobile art studio 11 years ago this fall!

Over that time, I have taught thousands of students just like you how to paint with no experience at all! In fact, over 95% of the people who come and paint with me have never even picked up a paintbrush before? Maybe that’s you?!

I have taken my own painting experience and developed a style of teaching that is simple and easy to understand. I thought about all the ways that my favorite teachers taught me and the ways that some of my not so favorite ones did. Out of that came up with my own unique method of teaching!

Art and painting is my passion and I absolutely LOVE that God created me to share this passion with you!  I love hearing the success stories of my current students and encouraging them along the way in their journey! I can’t wait to do the same for you!

I am going to take you step by step through this adventure in art! I am going help you learn how to find the confidence in your own art, relax and have fun! My goal is to help you in whatever way you need no matter your experience!
Trust me when I say, absolutely NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED! 

AND…it doesn’t matter how old you are either!! Some of the greatest artists in history didn’t start until later in life! It is NEVER too late to learn something new!
